Lynn, maybe the fire station at the airport is part of the new marketing plan!
From the sound of things Monday night, the runways are insufficient for many types of planes which are needed by community users, the lack of a tower is a dealbreaker for larger passenger flights and there is insufficient hotel stock and other amenities to recoup the investment in a marketing plan.
Sounds an awful lot like a certain downtown “plan”, if you ask me.
It’s a good thing there are so many wonderful churches in this community because that’s how our local government seems to spend its money: “on faith”.
So maybe a working fire station at the airport will be the tourist attraction which is needed to bring ‘em in from far and wide! Hey kiddies, how much would you pay to ring a fire bell, to slide down one of those cool poles and to pet the dalmation mascot?
