Wind turbines generate animosity, health concerns among some in DeKalb County – chicagotribune.com

I stumbled upon an article in the “Chicago Tribune” about the wind farms in DeKalb County. I made the mistake of reading their comments. I already knew the “Trib” allows nastier comments than the “Daily Chronicle.” Anyway, a lot of folks in Chicago think we are a bunch of “rubes.”

  1. Not to worry! All those Chicago city slickers will love us DeKalb County hicks and rubes once we start disposing of all their garbage. Yet another unforeseen advantage of the landfill expansion.

But, it seems strange that the “Windy City” does not seem to have that many wind farms in its locale. Perhaps their county board can get snookered into a deal to ignore their county plans and zoning and install industrial strength wind turbines all over Cook County, as well. They can certainly use the money!

  2. Here are two fun and easy ways to get a wind farm in Chicago:

Just let the mob take care of a wind farm. [Not legal] The mob will need another project after the feds kick them out of McCormick Place.

Tell Mayor Daley that a wind farm will significantly reduce the threat of terrorism because all those rotating blades would be confusing for suicide bombers in small planes. [Not truthful] There would be a wind farm built overnight!

    Enjoy!

(If DeKalb County ever gets perturbed at Kane County, we could always plant a wind farm on the east (downwind) side of the landfill). ;-)

P.S. I warned the Democrats I had a quirky sense of humor.
